Israel does not want two-state solution, US Joe Biden Gaza war, Netanyahu will have to change Hamas government

New Delhi: According to news agency Reuters report, US President Joe Biden said that Israel is starting to lose support around the world due to indiscriminate bombing in Gaza and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should change his hardline government. Speaking to Democratic donors in Washington, President Biden said PM Netanyahu has “difficult decisions to make.” “This is the most conservative government in Israel’s history.” He also said that the Israeli government “does not want a two-state solution.”

President Biden’s comments come after Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu reiterated that the US stands with Israel as Tel Aviv tries to destroy Hamas and recover hostages held in Gaza.

However, PM Netanyahu said that despite being allies, Israel and the US differ on what could happen after Israel stops bombing Gaza.

“Gaza will neither be a Hamas-stan nor a ‘Fatah-stan’. I would like to make my position clear: I will not allow Israel to repeat the mistake of Oslo,” PM Netanyahu said, Reuters reports. However, he did not clarify which mistake he was referring to.

It is noteworthy that the 1993 Oslo Accords established limited Palestinian autonomy in the West Bank and Gaza.

Meanwhile, Hussein al-Sheikh, Secretary-General of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Executive Committee, hit out at reports that the Israeli Prime Minister had compared the Oslo Accords to the Hamas massacre on October 7, saying both had equal consequences. Israeli deaths were massacred.

“Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement on October 7 comparing the Oslo Accords confirms his war against all Palestinians. We tell Netanyahu that Oslo died under his tanks, in our cities, villages and camps from Jenin to Rafah Spread,” the news agency quoted al-Sheikh as saying.
