Israeli Defense Forces IDF photo in Hamas Parliament Israeli Defense Minister said that Hamas has lost control of Gaza

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said on Monday that Hamas had “lost control” of the Gaza Strip which it had ruled for 16 years. He made this statement after a photo of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Golani Brigade inside Gaza’s parliament was circulated on social media. The soldiers were posing on the desk inside the Parliament, holding the Israeli flag. Hamas has been ruling the Gaza Strip since ousting the Palestinian Authority (PA) in 2007.

“Hamas has lost control of Gaza. Terrorists are fleeing south. Civilians are looting Hamas targets,” he said, without providing evidence. “He no longer trusts the government,” Gallant said in a video broadcast on Israel’s main TV stations, according to AFP.

The Israeli army’s elite Golani Brigade captured the Hamas parliament building on Monday, the IDF said in a statement. According to IANS, the IDF has been making steady progress in the Gaza Strip since the ground offensive on October 27.

The IDF has accused Hamas of using major hospitals in northern Gaza as their command centers and has asked civilians to relocate to the southern part of the enclave. According to a report by The Times of Israel, the Israeli army raided Rantisi Hospital in Gaza City. The IDF said that Hamas operatives were operating from there and that they had found evidence indicating that hostages were being held there.

According to the IDF, Hamas began the war with 30,000 men in five regional brigades.

The IDF Chief of Staff said, “We are preparing strongly with action plans for the North. Our mission is to bring security. The security situation will not be such that residents of the North do not feel safe returning to their homes.” monday.

“Underneath the hospital, in the basement, we found a Hamas command and control center, suicide bomb vests, grenades, AK-47 assault rifles, explosive devices, RPGs and other weapons, computers, money, etc.” Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said this at an English-language press conference.

The army released a video of the incident and claimed to have killed a gang of gunmen who opened fire on soldiers at an isolated hospital in Gaza City. On Monday, members of a terrorist cell that fired on Israeli forces from Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza City were killed by Israeli troops. The IDF said the hospital chamber was “contained within a group of civilians at the entrance” when it began firing on soldiers from the 188th Armored Brigade, using light weapons and RPGs. According to The Times of Israel, with air support, IDF troops returned fire on the Hamas operatives, killing 21 of them.

Israel further said that Hamas has command centers under hospitals in Gaza and is using civilians, including patients, as human shields as the Gaza conflict continues.

The Israeli defense provided details of the efforts, also saying it had killed several Hamas commanders in airstrikes during the previous day.

According to Times Now, Gallant further said that Israeli troops were moving as per plan and the actions were being carried out in a “precise, lethal” manner.

“We work according to tasks. We don’t have a stopwatch. We have goals. We will achieve our goals,” Gallant said. His statement was in reference to Foreign Minister Eli Cohen’s indication that international pressure could force Israel to change its actions in Gaza.

The conflict escalated in Gaza following an October 7 attack by Hamas, where approximately 2,500 militants crossed the border from the Gaza Strip into Israel, causing casualties and capturing hostages.
