Vishnu Dev Sai led government in Chhattisgarh will hold its first cabinet meeting today

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that the first cabinet meeting of the newly formed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Chhattisgarh will be held on Thursday.

Sai took oath as Chief Minister on Wednesday, while two party MLAs Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma took oath as Deputy Chief Ministers.

Telangana Assembly Speaker election today

The election for the post of Telangana Assembly Speaker will be held on December 14 and nominations will be accepted on December 13 between 10:30 am and 5 pm.

According to the notification issued by the Secretary of the State Legislature, the election of the Speaker of the Assembly will be held on Monday.

The notification comes days after newly elected BJP MLAs stayed away from the House alleging that the appointment of AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi as pro tem speaker was a violation of rules.

Owaisi had administered the oath of office to the newly elected MLAs on December 9.

In the recently concluded assembly elections, the Congress party won 64 seats and its ally CPI won one seat. BRS won 39 seats while its “friendly party” AIMIM won seven seats. BJP won eight seats.
